Daniel joined Harris Cooper Brownings LLP in 1994 as a Trainee Solicitor, completing his training contract and qualifying as a Solicitor in February 1996 at which point he joined the firm’s Dispute Resolution Team and was involved in a wide range of commercial and corporate disputes and employment related matters. By 2000, Daniel had set up a dedicated Employment Law Team within the firm and the following year he became a Partner.
Daniel now heads the Dispute Resolution Team which encompasses the firm’s Employment, Litigation and Family Departments. His specialism lies in Employment Law and he has gained considerable experience of pursuing and defending a broad range of claims and acting for employers or employees in matters such as:
- Employment Tribunal Claims e.g. unfair dismissal, discrimination, bullying and harassment
- Contractual claims
- Drafting of terms, employment contracts, directors’ service agreements and consultancy agreements
- Drafting and reviewing employee handbooks and policies and procedures
- Advising and assisting on disciplinary and grievance procedures; redundancy procedures; maternity rights and flexible working requests
- Compromise Agreements
- TUPE transfers
Daniel regularly conducts presentations and seminars to the local business community and Human Resource departments on various employment law related issues.
